Your Envisio Projects Dashboards will have a standardized layout, but there are some configurable options to know about.
Accessing your Projects Dashboards
- Ensure you're in the Manage Projects area by using the Plan selector drop-down at top left and choosing Manage Projects.
- Click the Dashboards icon in the left side navigation bar. This will take you to a screen showing a list of projects on the left side, and your dashboard on the right.
- Any new dashboard you create will be automatically named "Dashboard <date> <time>". Update the name to reflect the types of Projects you'll be sharing on this dashboard. Note that this name is for internal purposes only, so please follow your naming convention!
- If you've already created other dashboards, you can flip between existing dashboards using the Show Dashboards arrow to the right of the name.
- If you've already created other dashboards, you can flip between existing dashboards using the Show Dashboards arrow to the right of the name.
- Click Enter Banner Text to change the public-facing name for the dashboard.
Adding Projects to your Dashboard
Use the checkboxes in the list at left to add projects to the dashboard. As you add projects, the Projects, On Track, and Budget calculations at the top of the dashboard will automatically update, as will the overview map at right.
The progress of the Projects is being reported using the following criteria:
- If budget is not available for all projects in the dashboard, Budget information is not displayed
- Project statuses of On Track, Upcoming and Completed projects will be considered as "On Schedule". A status of "Minor Disruption", "Major Disruption" or "Discontinued", will affect the On track calculation.
Configuring filters in the dashboard
Users can configure the project dashboards filters by clicking on the "...", which pulls up a drop down which is a filter multi-select.
Users can multi-select filters that are not included as part of the projects dashboard. The filter options include:
- Phases (this will allow users to filter against the current project phases for all the projects in the dashboard)
- Departments (this will allow users to filter against all the departments to which all project owners belong to)
- Project templates (this will allow users to filter the templates to which all the projects in the dashboard are under)
- Project status (this will allow users to filter on the status of all the projects within the dashboard, for e.g.: On track, Some Disruption etc.)
- Budget status (this will allow users to filter on budget status of all the projects within the dashboard, i.e.: On Budget, Over Budget)
- Last Status Updates (this will allow users to filter on projects' last update, i.e.: Last Update this Month, Last Update this Quarter, No Update)
The newly configured filters are available on the published/previewed projects dashboard.
Configuring the dashboard setting
Users can now configure projects dashboard settings using the dashboard settings cog. When a user clicks on a setting cog and drop down shows to set up project level configuration or dashboard level configurations.
Users can now include custom fields across the dashboard and use multi-select for custom fields which will display on the projects detail page. Multiple custom fields can be selected to be included in all projects in that dashboard.
Another dashboard level setting will be to show/hide the budget information:
When a user hides the budget information, the following information is not available on public dashboard:
- On budget summary information
- Budget column for the projects listing
- Budget information on the projects details
Users can also configure dashboard level settings for the following fields:
- Include latest status updates
- Include measures
- Include images
Users can override dashboard level settings by selecting the individual projects and clicking on the specific checkboxes
Adding a Dashboard Overview
If you wish to provide a Dashboard Overview section to the projects list on your dashboard, you can do so in the Publish area below your dashboard preview. This will display at the top of the project list on the main dashboard page, and can share some insight with your visitors about what your dashboard is offering.
