Summarizing and updating the middle and top level plan elements can be a challenge. Either no updates are made on the higher levels or they use the ‘Copy from lowest level’ function to pull in the aggregated updates with no additional summarization. If customers do take the time to summarize the aggregated updates it can be a time consuming undertaking to do every update period.
Additionally, writing meaningful goals, objective and action descriptions as well as work plans can be a challenge.
To help our customers in these areas Envisio is bringing the power of AI into Plans For the initial feature release we have added AI functionality to the text editors to allow dynamic planning and effortless updates.
This enhancement aims to improve user experience, content quality, and provide additional features to streamline the planning and update process.
How can this help?
- Enhance the narrative updates provided by users. The use of AI will provide consistency to communication style and tone.
- Improve the quality of reporting by summarizing lower level updates into meaningful and concise updates on higher levels that can be used by leadership
- Reduce the need for administrators to edit updates submitted by users to ensure consistency, rectifying spelling and grammar errors before syncing and publishing them on the Public Dashboard.
- Work Plan creation can be done at the push of a button. Using AI technology, the work plan automatically generates suggested implementation steps based on the action's description, facilitating a more seamless planning process for users.

How does it work?
The AI Assist feature is accessible in both the View/Edit Plans and Submit Updates. The table below illustrates the specific locations within Envisio's editors where AI Assist functionality is available:

View/Edit Plans
In the Description field editor, you will see a new button called ‘AI Assist’ on the toolbar. The user can enter a plan element description and utilize AI to Improve, Condense, Simplify, Rephrase, or check Spelling and Grammar.
Suggest Work Plan
In the Work Plan field within View/Edit Plans and Submit Updates, a new button has been added to the Work Plan’s editor toolbar called ‘Suggest Work Plan’. Upon entering the Action description and clicking on the Suggest Work Plan button, the AI will promptly generate a comprehensive list of implementation steps.
Note: your Work Plan field may have been customized and labeled differently by your administrator.
Submit Updates
In the New Update editor, you will see a new button called ‘AI Assist’ on the toolbar. The user can write their update in the editor or use the ‘Copy from’ functionality, available at the higher plan levels, to start their update.
AI Assist is also available in the Shared Notes and Work Plan editor windows within Submit Updates
There are two ways they can use AI to improve their update:
- After entering text into the editor, users can simply click on the AI Assist button and choose from the available prompts in the dropdown menu.
- Selecting text before activating the AI Assist button is particularly useful, especially when seeking assistance in enhancing specific parts of your update.
Note: if an update template exists within the plan’s level, AI will attempt to format the output based on the template. If an update template has not been set, the output will be in the format of Envisio’s recommended best practice of “Accomplishment, Roadblocks and Next Steps”.
