Envisio Analytics file upload feature requires UTF-8 encoded .CSV files. This type of encoding ensures that your data will be parsed properly. This article will show you how to save your .csv file with UTF-8 encoding if this encoding is not offered where you exported the data from.
Excel For Windows
- Open your file in Excel. Then select Save As.
- In the Save As Type dropdown menu, select "CSV (Comma Delimited)"
- Select 'Web Options' in the 'Tools...' dropdown at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Select the 'Encoding' tab.
- In the 'Save this document as:' dropdown, select 'Unicode (UTF-8)'
Excel For Macs
- Open your file in Excel. Then select Save As.
- In the Save As dropdown menu, choose the File Format "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (.csv)"
- Click Save and close the file.
Google Sheet
- Open the Google Spreadsheet and relevant data tab.
- Click File > Download As > Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet)
Other Spreadsheets
- Open the spreadsheet, select the relevant cells and copy the data to the clipboard.
- Open a new Google Sheet, select cell A1 and go to Edit > Paste Special and click on Paste values only
- Click File > Download As > Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet)
