Manual Data Source
When working with raw data, this is the data source you need. It has the most flexibility allowing you to capture all your data in a data set.
If you're looking to track performance indicators with targets and actuals, use the Measure data source instead.
Steps to Create a Manual Data Source
- Navigate to Analytics -> Data Sources.
- Click on New Data Source button.
- Select Manual Type.
-
Name your data source by replacing the 'Untitled Data Source' with your data source name, this will make it easier for you to find it later. Tab or click anywhere outside the box to save your changes.
The first column with a data type of Text(255) is added by default. To add additional columns, click on Add Column.
A bottom panel opens when adding a column or clicking on the column name. This panel holds the column properties where you can set the column name, data type, and the ability to protect the column. The latter can be useful when you need to set a target column.
