Transpose Data Source
If you have a data source that you need to rotate the orientation and rearrange the columns, use the Transpose feature. This is useful to get a more desirable result in charting.
Steps to Create a Transpose Data Source
- Navigate to Analytics -> Data Sources.
- Click on New Data Source button.
- Select Transpose Type.
- Name your data source. Overwrite the default data source name Untitled Data Source.
- In the Input Source tab, click on Add Data Source to add the data source you wish to Transpose. Select your data source from the list.
Here is an example of the original data source called 'Monthly Expenses':
When we select this data source as the input source in our Transpose data source, you will see that the columns and rows have been switched:
Column Filter
In the Column Filter tab, you can hide columns by clicking on the eye icon, or rearrange columns by clicking on the column and dragging it to a new position.
The example below shows that columns G and H are hidden.
Row Filter
Set filtering criteria in the Row Filter tab to narrow your display of rows and/or columns. In the example below, the filter
Date > 2019-03-01 results in only displaying months Apri to Jul 2019.
Output Source
In the Output Source tab, you can add an internal description for the data source, change the column data type, and formatting. You can also add additional columns to the data source if required.
