Table Visual |
Simply put, when you want to display information in a table format, whether to link it to Plans or to place it on a dashboard, you'll need to use the Table visual.
With Table visual, you can:
- Selectively hide columns in the data source from displaying
- Use conditional formatting to highlight cells within a column based on set conditions
Steps to Create a Summary Label
- Navigate to Analytics -> Visuals.
- Click on New Visual button.
- Select Table type.
- Name your visual by replacing the 'Untitled Visual' with your (internal) visual name, this will make it easier for you to find it later. Tab or click anywhere outside the box to save your changes.
- Next, link your data source by clicking on +Add Data Source. It will bring up a list of data sources. To select the data source you want to use to create your visual, click on the row.
- By default, Envisio automatically creates a table using all the columns in the data source.
- To reorder or hide the columns from displaying in your table visual, click on More Options (3 dots) and select Organize. To change the position of the column, click on the column and drag it to a new position. To hide the column, simply click on the 'eye' icon.
- You can use conditional formatting on any of the columns to highlight cells for display.
In the example above, we're highlighting the departments whose budget variance is less than 20%.

The details of Visual Title, Additional Information, and Enable Plans Linking options can be found in the Basics of Working with Visuals.
Add Table Visual to Dashboard
Now that you've created your table visual, you can add it to any dashboards and here's what it'll look like.
By default table visuals in dashboards are centre justified, to ensure a better overview of the table's contents.
Adjust Column Widths
Similar to a spreadsheet in excel, the column widths in the Table visual are adjustable by hovering your mouse over the cell separator on the header row. You will need to have edit rights to the table visual or the dashboard to adjust the column width.
On the visual itself, when you adjust the column width, all instances of this visual will reflect the set column width, with the exception of when it's pinned to a dashboard. Column width adjustments made to the table visual on the dashboard remains within the dashboard.
You can also set the column width manually to ensure uniformity and assigning a number to column width (similar to a spreadsheet in excel).
