How To: Preview and Generate Reports

To see the results of an Envisio report, you can preview or generate the report.

• Preview is a feature of the report building process, which allows you to quickly and easily see how your report will look, as you build and customize it. Envisio's report builder offers an in-line preview that allows you to easily toggle between Design and Preview using the view mode selector buttons at top right.
• Generate asks the Envisio system to create a point-in-time copy of your report based on the configured settings and saves it in to the report's archive so you can refer to it at a later time. The output is an HTML report that you can print or export as needed.

To Preview a Report

In the report builder, click the Preview view mode button at top right. Depending on the complexity and size of your report, the system may take a moment to display the live preview. This in-line preview is a great way to check your work as you build the report to ensure the output is as you expect.

To Generate a Report

As a report owner or a sharee, you'll have the ability to generate a point-in-time version of a report, which will then be saved to the report's archives and can be distributed for review and action.

To generate a report:

1. Navigate to the report from your report list, and click the Generate button at top right.
2. This will create a generation of the report and automatically open the report's Archives, which lists all generations of the report. The most current generation will be listed at the top.

To access the archives at any time, click the Archives button in the top toolbar, to the right of the Generate button. This list will show all generations of your report to date, so you can see what data the report generated at previous points in time.
