The Activity Stream is a chronological timeline of notifications triggered by actions that happens on planning elements users are assigned to, whether as an Owner, Contributor or Observer. This will help reduce the quantity of emails that users receive, as well as provide an audit trail.
Email notifications will provide users with important content to focus their attention with meaningful call-to-actions.
Activity Stream
Users will automatically see the Activity Stream dashlet on their home page. By default, users assigned as Owner, Contributor or Observer on plan elements will be notified through Activity Stream and email notification. Users can set how they receive these notifications based on their permission level in the “Notifications” page. For example, if a user does not wish to receive emails for their observed items only, they can disable the option ‘Enable Email Notifications’ for their Observed planning elements via the Settings/Notifications option from their Avatar.
How are notifications triggered?
Email notifications remains an important way for Envisio to communicate with users. However for email notifications to get the required attention, they need to be meaningful and purposeful. That is why we’ve focused email notifications to only be triggered by events that carry a purposeful call-to-action. Below is a listing of the events that trigger notifications in Envisio. Notifications are grouped in importance by colors for ease of filtering in the Activity Stream.
Note: The chart above lists events that trigger notifications. Background colour of white, blue, yellow and red represent grouping of notifications by importance.
